Sometimes working at a school really has its perks. One of those being holidays like today. I had the day off to spend with the boys. I cherish the extra days I have home with them this school year leading up to the end of my job.
Jude has really turned a corner with his eating skills and it's all thanks to the Up & Up yogurt melts from Target. I give those little things full credit for pushing my guy toward self feeding and no longer gagging like crazy.
After some time off of doing structured pre-school activities with Joel, we kicked it into gear again today by restarting our Letter of the Week studies before we jump into some reading skills. Doesn't he look thrilled? Sometimes it takes a little coaxing to get him into learning mode. A very wise friend told me that as long as we talk about playing games (learning games, of course!) that could be just the hook he needs to get going.
Here is s a shot of a tiny little spot of our evolving school room. A dry erase lapboard, picture easel, baby cereal container (covered in dollar bin wrapping paper), and dry erase markers and erasers - all from the dollar spot. I love creating things like this for my home - cheap, easy, and nice to look at.
P.S. Happy Birthday, Mimi! We love you.
